Diary of a Seducer

Søren Kierkegaard adapted for the stage

DIARY OF A SEDUCER is the world classic on the anatomy of love and seduction and manipulation by the great Søren Kirkegaard, adapted for the stage.

The story opens on October 31, 1841. ‘Johannes the Seducer’ is the main character, Cordelia is the woman he seduces and his diary is the tool he uses to record his pleasure. From the moment Johannes lays eyes on young Cordelia he knows that he must possess her: not only in a flurry of sensual fervor, but her very life.

A string of evocative scenes sees the five actors perform and sing this drama of sense, sensibility and reflection. The words of Kierkegaard meet with a modern soundscape featuring new music by two of Denmark’s most celebrated pop and rock stars.
DIARY OF A SEDUCER has played for full houses since April 2011 and the critics loved it; ”it makes you shiver as it tells you stuff about life you never believed possible, and yet has you roaring with laughter at the same time”, Jyllands-Posten (national newspaper).
May 5 2013 will be the 200th anniversary of Søren Kierkegaard’s birth, and so 2013 has been announced International Søren Kierkegaard Year.
